March 2006 ~ Tyler Reddick wins West Coast Nationals in SKE

Tyler continued his winning ways by becoming the only driver with 2 West Coast National Titles.

Tyler ran 3 divisions with his SKE sponsored karts.  He made runs at the 250, Open Intermediate and Open Outlaw divisions at this years event.

Tyler won his second Eagle Trophy from the Sports pinnacle event at Red Bluffs "WEST COAST NATIONALS!"

"Pistol" Pete Johnston was on his way to a commanding win at the West Coast Nationals, when coming off turn four for the white flag a clip for the carburetor broke bringing his show to a stop.  Pete was pulling away out front putting on a great show.

The following weekend "Pistol" was again on fire in his SKE FACTORY kart as he took the win at Lakeport's Open Show winning the 6 foot trophy.

May 27th, 2005 - Tyler Reddick Takes Points Lead in ALL-STAR TOUR

Tyler Reddick and Team SKE traveled to Southern Oregon Speedway for the 2nd round of the ALL-STAR TOUR race schedule.

Tyler was hot from the get go and set 2nd fast time in box stock division qualifying and went on the Win the main event feature.  Coming from behind, Tyler was able to get to the front passing James Edens and Chase Johnson on the outside and come home with the Win.  Congratulations Tyler!

"Pistol" Pete Johnston went on to help his points lead in the Open Outlaw division by running a strong 3rd place after having to come from approximately 9th place after the start.  Kyle Larson was fast on came home second improving his bid chances at the Championship.  Pete has currently a 30+ points lead in the division an is looking forward to racing Kyle for the Championship.

Tyler ran a strong 6th place finish in the 250cc division.  Tyler was having to pull double duty in back to back races with no break.

May 21st, 2005 - "Pistol" Pete Johnston Guns down the competition

Cycleland Speedway 4th round of the long season is all it took for "Pistol" Pete Johnston and his new Factory SKE ride to take the points lead and make it 2 in a row at Cycleland.

"Pistol" with a near perfect night only left 1 point on the table as he qualified 2nd, won the dash and took the Open Outlaw A-main event in style over McCain.  Pete started inside 3rd row and in short order took the lead working the bottom on turns 1 & 2 and taking the top on 3 & 4.  In just a few laps pulled even with McCain and as little as one more round took the lead.

By race end, Pete was having to do something that many say he can't do....., back off to hold on as Pete engine was suffering from clutch issues that almost kept him from the main event.  But Pete knew what to do and when to do it!  Drove himself and SKE to 2 in a row and put him and SKE at the top for this championship run.

Great job Pete!!

Good luck next week at round 2 of the ALL-STAR TOUR series resuming in Medford Oregon this next week.

Pete currently holds the point lead in both series........AWESOME!

May 14th, 2005 - "Pistol" Pete Johnston Smokes the Competition

Mr. Locked & Loaded "Pistol" Pete Johnston was on fire as he took it to the competition in his Factory SKE Open Outlaw Kart powered by a Becker Honda power plant.  Pete was hot right from the start and the excitement was filling the air as the stage had been set  in the last couple weeks. "Pistol" has obviously been ready to unload and wanting to show the quickness of his new ride coupled with his explosive talent.

Pete set 2nd fast time while having to pass other drivers in his qualifying effort otherwise he would have very well had a sweep on the night.  Coming from last in the Trophy Dash, Pete charged by the competition to take an impressive win and set the stage for the show that was about to come.

Pete starting 3rd row inside wasted no time in showing his hand in the main event.  "Pistol" unloaded his wrath in the opening first turn.  Making a inside move he picked off most of the leaders in turn one and by turn 3 he had taken the lead.  Pete went on to Smoke the rest of the field as he impressively pulled away.  "Pistol" knows only one speed, and it is FULL TILT all the time!  Coming up on lappers, Pete stayed hammered down and was blasting by the tail end of the field.  As Pete came upon a gaggle of karts he stayed committed to blasting by them. While making a move around the top, a lapper slid up to the top cutting Pete off and sending him flipping. "Pistol" hit the ground running on all fours an never let the motor die.  Still running he kept his lead position as they reset the field.  Pete went on to still take the win pulling away at the checker.

If you have any questions about how tough an SKE Kart is.., then the questions have been answered as SKE has the driver that can dish out and put any Kart to the ultimate test. It's Pete Proof!

Tyler Reddick, made it 3 wins out of the last 4 Box Stock races by winning at Cycleland Speedway and Southern Oregon Speedway back to back.  Tyler also won the trophy dash at Cycleland as he walked away from the competition sporting his new Predator Motor's power plant.  Thanks Clarence Marshall!

In the Main event, Tyler started on the 3rd row inside and took little time to take the lead and start pulling away from the competition.  Tyler using his ultra smooth driving style makes the Kart look like it's always on a rail.

Congratulations to both "Pistol" Pete Johnston and Tyler Reddick on their impressive victories!
